Lazy Saturdays

Decided to stay at home and rest this weekend and not take any photos.

As it is I am currently on a mission to watch 100 Naruto Shippuden episodes in a week (after 4 or so days i am on ep 80).

I was going super hard on Saturday when my eyes started to give in so I decided to go for a walk.

I grabbed my large format camera and went to my local park where I spotted a few guys playing Igo under a tree.

The plan was to go get a close up of them but when I got close enough I realized that they were deep in concentration and had a radio playing.

One of them noticed me and smiled and I asked if he didn’t mind me taking a photo. He said “No problem, do whatever you like”.

Realizing I would be bothering their game taking a close up (Igo is ike chess, needs concentration and large format takes too long to setup) I decided to just take some pictures from far away.

Seems like they might be there every week, so maybe ill catch them again next week. Kinda wished I had colour film. One guy was wearing red and one wearing blue. Also the light was beautiful. A lesson learnt I guess hehe.

While packing up I met these three guys practicing with instruments in the park.

I think I might have accidentally changed the settings of the GF2 from raw to jpeg while it was in my pocket or something :( Gotta be careful about that in the future…

The guy on the left is in his 70s. I was telling him how crazy it is in this country that people in their 70+ are so active.

He saw my camera and told me that he used to work developing film using trays (he used his hands to make the motion of moving liquid in a tray from the left to right).

The guy in the middle has been a musician for all of his life.

When I told him that I am from the UK he asked me if I know who Shirley Bassey is. I said yes and he told me that he has been on tour with her twice when she was in Japan.

They said that they are there every week so Ill probably catch them again next time.
